Three times as much space for production

Due to its continued growth, the family-led firm from Denzlingen decided to invest 6.5m euros in a new building in Sexau, north of Freiburg im Breisgau. Only regional companies were considered when awarding the contracts. The site's total floor space now comes to 3,900 sq m – almost triple the previous size –, 3,000 sq m of which are production and goods logistics areas. The new building is equipped with the latest building automation and office technologies, which are controlled via an energy management system.

State-of-the-art energy, cooling and air supply systems were installed in the manufacturing area, ensuring efficient and optimised production and enabling the company to significantly increase its manufacturing capacities in the future. New crane conveyor systems ensure all work processes meet ergonomic standards.

Over 10,000 items and replacement parts required for production are kept in a three-storey racking system.

According to the company, the new administrative area comprises both a modern open-plan sales office with meeting areas and quiet zones and a range of single and multi-person offices to meet all requirements. All rooms feature soundproofed floors, walls and ceilings as well as state-of-the-art telecommunications technology.

Intensive cooperation with the relevant planning offices, public authorities, industrial companies and skilled trades allowed the ambitious project to be implemented in a record time of 10 months from the start of construction to moving in in March 2016. The new building was presented to the company's long-term staff, international subsidiaries and international partners at a sales conference in late May. With the move to its new premises plating electronic GmbH has laid the foundation for stable and successful development and the expansion of its global market leadership in the field of rectifiers and Pulse Reverse power supplies.
